NaNoWriMo 2013 Journal – Entry #2

Due to the family emergency, I took a week-long hiatus from NaNoWriMo 2013 planning. Bodies and spirits are much better now and I’ve spent the past couple of days catching up. I really want to tell you guys all about my story, but I’m one of those writers who likes to keep ideas close to his vest in the beginning stages. I find it harder to break free of a storyline if I spill the beans too early and I lose my original excitement. The only thing I will reveal is the working title: A Parting War

That was helpful wasn’t it? 🙂

I’ll be spending tonight handing out candy, scaring the socks off of little kids and adding some more scenes to my basic outline. The first draft craziness begins tomorrow! After my novel sprint last month, I feel this is something I can now do without too much trouble. Not that it will be easy, but easier.

If you haven’t already, please buddy up with me on the NaNoWriMo website. When your brain tells your fingers to give up, a fellow NaNoWriMo-ite can help roll up your sleeve and administer a dose of encouragement.

Have a Happy Halloween and if you’re hitting the blank page tomorrow, whether you’re participating or not, may your writing be swift and your mind be at ease. You can do this!

-Phillip

    1. Hah. Thanks Kevin. You may not recognize some us covered in dirt and blood after we’ve wrestled with our drafts.

  5. I’m semi-NaNoing, rather than official NaNoing. (Not going for the full 50,000.) So I’m hoping for the best for both of us! I worked out a plan for getting 30,000 words written.

    1. We’ll knock both of our projects out of the park, I’m sure of it! See you on the other side Marie. 🙂

  6. Glad everyone is feeling better and Good luck!
