In Absentia

I’m currently hitting the books (both metaphorically and with my forehead) for a certification exam I’m scheduled to sit for on Friday morning. All this to say I will definitely be late for my owed process post, and very likely late to put up my next short story.

Whether or not I return to regularly scheduled programming sooner rather than later depends on whether or not I pass!

When I return, though, I will have some other awesome news to share with everyone.

I hope you’re all enjoying the holiday season.

  1. Good luck matey. Did the same thing last year ( ITIL practitioner and more interestingly various Scrum practitioner certification). Fun times 🙂

On the plus side, any hiatus from story sharing gives me catch up time on your stories.

    1. Haha, seems us tech guys are stuck in the neverending certification loop. How do we get in on that racket? 🙂 How did NaNo go?

      1. Got to 30k then the dayjob butted in and I lost my energy. Still, it proved that with a routine, and some commitment to a process, I can knock out a decent amount of words a day. Planning on some downtime between xmas and New Year when I’ll start tinkering with things again. Then, I’ll hit the word count hard again in January. Still struggling to find the balance, but I think I’ll always be a spits and spurts kind of writer until I have more energy on my hands (the dayjob requires most of my energy, so it’s more about that than it is time).

        1. Oh man. Energy. That’s really the other part of the equation. There are days when I want to do nothing more than sleep, and to be honest, sometimes those days win. But I think the key is to keep banging away. As you found out, routine and commitment will get you there, even if slowly.

Can’t wait to hear about you getting back to it and wrapping up your NaNoWriMo story so I can start reading it!
