Greatest Weekly Update Ever

Happy Angus
Angus Finn McCollum – 8lbs 4oz and 20.5in long

After nearly 24 hours of labor, the greatest present my wife and I have ever received came into the world at 11:35PM, August 13th. He has us frazzled and sleepless, and though I knew I’d love this little guy a lot, I never knew just how much until I held him in my arms.

  1. Oh, my!!!!! That is the greatest news ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!! (And love the new blog look! Been slacking and not been by in a while! Truthfully, been super buried, but excuses are weak…)

  2. A big, big congratulations!! How wonderful! He’s even got a bit of a smile for that pic. (Even if it is just gas. 😉 ) Nothing much compares to being a father. I wish you all the best.

        1. I feel the need to comment here, because I’m a baby head sniffer, too! When my youngest was born I’d inhale her lovely head scent and simultaneously whisper in her ear, “You smell like a baby!” Eleven years later, I’m still doing it! The baby head smell is long gone, but the habit has been established. Now when I whisper that quirky phrase in her ear, I get a dramatic eye-roll and, “Omigod, Mom. You’re such a weirdo!” 🙂

  3. Oh, I love that smile! Looks like he’s just as happy to be held by you as you are to hold him 🙂 Congratulations to you and your wife, Phillip! Wow, 24 hours in labor … Angus better come out smiling 😉

  4. Greatest update, indeed! Congratulations to you and your wife — what a precious photo of little Angus. Looks as though he’s posing with a smile for the camera. I’m sure you’re receiving a slew of unsolicited advice, so let me add my two cents… take loads of video, and not just of the “big” moments. Someday you’ll be grateful to remember how he sounded and behaved on those ordinary days. You’re probably bleary-eyed with exhaustion at this point, but try to enjoy every moment. You never get them back. xo
