2019 Goals Recap – Week #9

As I mentioned last week, I am attending the WMG Anthology Workshop in Las Vegas. So far, I have written nothing but what you’re reading now.

Well, that’s not necessarily the case. I’ve been taking copious amounts of notes and, wow, am I learning. I can’t say really anything about the workshop at this point but next weekend’s recap ought to have some details that I hope you’ll find interesting.

Obviously, whipping up something culinary-related in the hotel room isn’t going to happen. If I had the time and inclination, I guess I could have gotten clever about the whole thing and put something together with sugar packets and creamer, like MacGyver, but with all of the reading and networking going on here…just nope.

So here’s a shot of the free and unexciting hotel breakfast:

I hope you all had a wonderful, productive week!

I envy you your experience at the workshop. I know it has to be amazing. Please say hello to Dean for me when you get the chance.

    1. It’s truly been one of the most fruitful learning experiences I’ve had so far in my writing career. I couldn’t recommend this workshop enough to other writers who are serious about their craft. I’ll definitely say hello to Dean for you.

  2. Wow that breakfast looks like it came from a federal prison. Best wishes on the seminar.

    1. Not far from it… Thanks John. ?

  3. LOL! I’m laughing at John’s comment…I thought the same thing. Enjoy the seminar…take good notes!

    1. Thanks, Jill! I think I’ve written a novella’s worth of notes so far. ?

  4. It sounds like you are being very productive. Taking copious notes counts in my book 🙂 The breakfast, well, … eh.

    1. Thanks, Marie. Win some, lose some I guess. ?

  5. ‘Doing porridge’ is a UK idiom for serving time in a penitentiary…

Dean as the warden would just crack me up. (Porridge was a popular 70s UK sitcom.)

    1. Haha. Certainly put a funny image in my brain. Glad to see your writing is going well!
