One Week A.A (After Angus)

Just want to warn you… I’ll occasionally be that person posting pics of their kid whom you’re only mildly interested in, at best. I promise to keep it at a minimum though:

many faces of Angus

It’s interesting to see just how much Angus has grown mentally in only one week. He’s more aware of his surroundings and can focus on his parents’ faces. He’s probably wondering why they always look so sleepy. Needless to say, the nights are no longer reserved for sleep.

I always enjoy when he’s done feeding. He gets so “milk drunk” and relaxed, he falls asleep pretty quickly. The only problem is we have to wake him up every couple of hours to feed because he has a touch of the jaundice. Constant feeding is supposed to help get the bilirubin out of his system; that and a bit of indirect sunlight each day. We’re close to the level of having to readmit him to the hospital for phototherapy, but not quite yet. We’re hoping it gets out of his system before then.

Either way, my wife and I are starting to adjust to the new way of things, developing systems to maintain our sanity. Now to work in other aspects of our life, little by little. That includes getting back to the writing for me. I was able to steal a little time for this blog entry and I plan on picking Wolf’s Tail back up soon.

Hope you’re all having a wonderful week!

-Phillip

  1. It’s quite an adjustment going from two to three, but it sounds like you’re settling in well. By the way, I wanted to name one of our kids Billy–Billy Rubin, get it?–but my husband ixnayed that. :)

  2. Post away, Phillip!!! That’s what cameras on phones are for! :-D Besides, kids change so quickly. It’s nice to have a record of the changes. :-D
He is adorable as others have said.

  3. Congrats! I don’t have kids of my own but I’ve enjoyed watching my nephew grow up. He’s 2 1/2 now and I just had my first real conversation with him! Meaning – I asked him a question and I actually understood the answer! All the best as you watch him change into a little man! :)

  4. Proud parents should share these early moments because before you know it, he’ll be grabbing the car keys for a night out and then leaving it “on empty” for you the next day! :D
